Comtrex Moves to Certify its Own Products to Lead Content Standards
TORONTO, ON—In response to the high lead content found in various products sold in North America, Comtrex Communications (”Comtrex”) moves to certify to RoHS standard products it manufactures.
Reduction Of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) European Union regulations enforceable on July 1, 2006 that set maximum concentration limits on hazardous materials used in electrical and electronic equipment. The substances are lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE).
Comtrex’s products designated for RoHS certification will begin shipping to customers in January 2008.
