ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Three Rochester-area companies will receive funding from the Department of Homeland Security to create a real-time airborne management system that would capture and distribute images during emergency scenarios.
Henrietta-based aerial imagery company Pictometry International Corp., ITT Corp.’s Rochester-based space systems division and Rochester military communications equipment manufacturer Harris RF Communications will use $750,000 from Homeland Security’s Small Business Innovation Research division.
The three previously collaborated on creating a real-time imagery capture and distribution system. The new grant is for creation of a more detailed working system over the next two years.
