CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Gov. Joe Manchin on Monday extended the State of Emergency, which was originally declared Feb. 5 for Preston, Randolph and Tucker counties.
Members of the West Virginia National Guard and other emergency personnel continue to respond to emergency conditions caused by the recent winter storms.
The State of Emergency will remain in effect for these three counties until March 24.
"Preston, Randolph and Tucker counties are still dealing with the aftermath of recent winter storms," Manchin said. "Our work is still not done in these areas, so an extension of the State of Emergency is needed, in order to give the assistance that these communities still need."
The State of Emergency is lifted for all other counties in West Virginia.
