Toughbooks

This may not be available for use by all, but our department uses the Panasonic Toughbooks as our MDCs, and on our MDC's we have a fairly detailed mapping program. This mapping program allows us to zoom in close enough of an aerial view so we have the top-down view fire maps of the area, along with tax lots in them denoting the property lines. Also, the program allows us to have an actual picture file of the home, which allows us to plan our approach, how to cover the house in the front and how many funnels we're dealing with. Every little bit helps before you arrive on scene and hopefully more agencies could pick these kind of programs up.
