2012 deadline to scan all port cargo won't be met
WASHINGTON — The Homeland Security Department says it will not meet a 2012 deadline set by Congress to scan the contents of every cargo container headed to U.S. ports. Instead, it plans to gather more information about who made the goods in the containers and who packed them. Full Story

An allergic reaction is an immunologic or non-immunologic response to an allergen or antigen resulting in the release of chemical mediators. Anaphylaxis, in the simplest sense, is a severe allergic reaction. However, it is important to understand that anaphylaxis can present with a multitude of clinical manifestations. Thus, anaphylaxis itself has its own continuum of criticality that is not well agreed upon in medical literature. Full Column
